HEBREWS 11:• Enoch – “dedicated, disciplined, trained” • Noah – “rest, comfort” • Abraham – “father of multitudes” • Sarah – “princess, noblewoman” • Isaac – “laughter, he laughs” • Jacob – “supplanter, one who follows after” • Joseph – “God will add, increase” • Moses – “drawn out, rescued” • Rahab – “wide, spacious; one opened to receive” • Gideon – “mighty warrior, hewer, one who cuts down” • Barak – “lightning, flashing one” • Samson – “sunlight, brightness” • Jephthah – “he opens” • David – “beloved” • Samuel – “heard by God” • The Prophets – (generic meaning: “those who speak forth for God”)
