A Biblical answer to same sex Marriage
A
Biblical and Respectful Explanation About God’s Design (Including References to
Same-Sex Relations), truth and facts.
Christians believe in
following the Scriptures and the God revealed in the Bible. According to the
Christian faith, God has an intentional design for humanity, for relationships,
and for His future kingdom.
In Genesis 1:27–28, God created
humanity “male and female” and blessed them with the command to “be fruitful
and multiply.”
Christians understand this as God’s foundational design for marriage,
sexuality, and family—rooted in male–female union.
2. Why Christians
Hold to This View
The Bible teaches that God
does not contradict Himself or change His moral standards.
In several passages,
Scripture mentions behaviors outside God’s design, including same-sex sexual
acts—not to condemn individuals, but to call all people to repentance and
transformation:
Old Testament
Leviticus 18:22
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Leviticus 20:13
This reinforces the same command as part of God’s holiness standards for
Israel.
New Testament
Romans 1:26–27
Paul describes same-sex sexual acts as contrary to God’s created order.
1 Corinthians 6:9–11
Paul lists several sins that will not make to the new earth coming according to revelation 21—
But Paul immediately adds hope:
“And such were some of you.
But you were washed… you were sanctified.”
This shows that no sin is permanent
for those who come to Christ.
1 Timothy 1:10
Scripture again mentions same-sex practices as part of behaviors outside God’s
design.
These passages speak to
behaviors—not to a person’s worth, identity, or dignity.
Christians believe all people are created in God’s image and deeply loved by
Him.
3.
Spiritual Influence and Deception
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:4
that:
“The god of this world has
blinded the minds of unbelievers.”
Christians believe this
means spiritual deception affects all people—whether sexual, moral, emotional,
or spiritual. This includes heterosexual sin, homosexual sin, adultery, lust,
idolatry, and many other areas. Nobody
is exempt from the struggle against sin.
4. The Gospel Message for Everyone
The heart of Christianity
is not condemnation—it is rescue.
·
John
3:16–17
God sent Jesus not to condemn the world but to save it.
·
2 Peter 3:9
God desires “all to come to repentance.”
Christians believe Jesus Christ offers
forgiveness, healing, and transformation to every person, regardless of past,
desires, or identity.
5. Why Christian
Women (and Men) Live Differently
Christians believe we do
not have the right to change God’s Word; we can only respond to it.
So Christian men and women try to:
Honor God with their bodies
(1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
Live in purity (1 Thessalonians 4:3)
Follow God’s design for
relationships and sexuality
Love others with compassion—even
when they disagree
Conclusion
Christians hold these beliefs not because of hatred, judgment, or fear, but because Scripture is clear—and because God’s love invites every person to find new life in Christ. If you think about it Hollywood has taught people to identify themselves based on what happens in the bedroom—but really is your personal life. The truth is that every one of us is a sinner, and we all fall short. Instead of dividing ourselves over personal matters, we should walk in humility and remember that we all stand in need of God’s grace.”
The Gospel, forgiveness and transformation for everyone.
“The truth is this: Jesus died on the cross for us, but salvation is still a personal choice. No one will enter the new Kingdom while continuing in sin without repentance, forgiveness, and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.”
