The true man of God
Paul: A Living Example of a True Man of God
Repentance · Purpose · Surrender · Endurance · Boldness
I. INTRODUCTION — THE CALL TO TRUE MANHOOD IN GOD
Today’s church needs men and women with Paul’s heart: surrendered, courageous, bold, and faithful.
Paul didn’t just preach the Gospel—
he lived it… he suffered for it… he encouraged believers… he strengthened the church… and he died for it.
His GOLD, his life’s mission, was to tell everyone about Jesus Christ and to strengthen all who believed.
II. PAUL’S BACKGROUND: PRIVILEGED, EDUCATED, YET COMPLETELY SURRENDERED
A. Highly educated under Rabbi Gamaliel
B. Spoke three languages: Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic
C. Connected to influential families
D. Worked with his hands as a tentmaker
E. Owned no house, no car, no wealth, no earthly possessions
F. Imprisoned many times for preaching Christ
G. Martyred in Rome—gave his life for Jesus
H. Bold—never afraid of being sentenced to jail
Scripture: Philippians 3:5–8 (Paul counted all earthly privilege as loss)
III. PAUL’S SUFFERINGS — THE COST OF FOLLOWING CHRIST
Read: 2 Corinthians 11:24–27
A. Beaten five times (40 lashes minus one)
B. Beaten with rods
C. Stoned and left for dead
D. Shipwrecked three times
E. Constantly in danger
F. Hungry, cold, sleepless, exposed
G. A man with no comfort—only mission
H. Served with visible boldness—never backed down
Key truth: Paul’s faith was not built on comfort—it was built on commitment, courage, and boldness.
IV. THE HEART OF A TRUE MAN OF GOD
1. A Heart That Repents
From persecutor → to apostle.
True transformation begins with repentance.
2. A Heart That Obeys
Paul obeyed God instantly and fully (Acts 9:6).
Obedience unlocks purpose.
3. A Heart Willing to Suffer for Christ
Suffering did not stop Paul—it strengthened him.
A true servant chooses purpose over comfort.
4. A Heart Focused on God’s Mission
His mission was clear:
Tell everyone about Jesus and strengthen all believers.
He walked thousands of miles, owning nothing but his calling.
5. A Heart That Gives, Not Takes
Paul worked so he would not burden anyone.
True ministry is sacrificial.
6. A Heart That Stands Firm in Danger
He faced death, prison, threats, and storms—without fear.
Boldness marked his life.
